Sliding sashes run on traditional cords and weights or discreet spring balances, with slim meeting rails and run-through horns where the style calls for it. Casements are made to open on solid brass or stainless ironmongery, weathered to keep the driving Dorset rain out. We match Georgian and Victorian glazing bar patterns exactly, whether you want true divided lights or elegant bars bonded to double glazing.

Timber built to last

The wood does most of the work, so we choose it carefully. Accoya is our go-to for painted windows that face the weather — it is dimensionally stable, takes paint beautifully and carries a long warranty against rot. For stained and oiled finishes we favour Sapele and European oak, which show their grain and age gracefully. Every window is factory-finished before it leaves us, with draught seals, decent glass and a paint or lacquer system that will not need constant fussing. The result is a window that performs like a modern unit but reads like the original.
