Bespoke Staircases in Poole & Dorset
A staircase is the one piece of joinery a family touches every day, and often the first thing you see through the front door. Our bespoke staircases are designed and built to fit the exact space and style of your home, from a classic turned-baluster flight to a clean open-tread stair with a glass balustrade.
We make oak staircases and stairs in other fine hardwoods, cut and assembled in our Poole workshop and fitted by our own team. Whether you want a traditional or contemporary design for a house in Wimborne, Broadstone or along the Dorset coast, we take it from first sketch through to the final coat of finish.

Designed around your hallway
No two stairwells are the same, so we survey the opening properly and design the timber staircase to suit the headroom, the going and the way you move through the house. Straight flights, quarter and half landings, winders and sweeping curves are all within our range. We draw the newels, spindles and handrail to a style you like — turned and painted for a period feel, or square and oiled for something sharper — and make sure every rise is equal and every tread solid underfoot.
Built and finished by hand
The parts are machined accurately and then fitted together the traditional way, with wedged and glued housings that will not creak. Treads and handrails are worked from selected oak or the hardwood of your choice, sanded through the grades and finished to feel good in the hand. We can combine timber with steel or glass where a lighter look is wanted, and match the stair to existing floors, doors and joinery so it settles into the house rather than shouting for attention.
